I told the vet about the information I received and rating dog food. I mentioned that Kibble and Bits ranked a poor 34 which was an F. He advised me again that the analysis of the stones found in Jerry Lewis' bladder would not be back for a couple of months. He did not want me to change anything until those results came in.
I said that I was not comfortable with having to wait for those results, so he recommended Science Diet (he sells Science Diet exclusively). I thanked him and said that I had found something else which scored higher than Science Diet. Of course, he did not ask me what it was.
Understandably, he makes money off of the Science Diet and probably does not know any better. I have found that sometimes with very educated people, you can't tell them anything different. They seem to know everything. Don't get me wrong, I love my vet and I think he is wonderful. Skilled, very loving, kind and shakes Jerry Lewis's paw every time he see's him. The doctor will say stuff like "Happy to see you Mr. Lewis" or "Tell me little guy, what's wrong". As if was shaking a human beings hand. That goes a very long way in my book!
Now I know that some of you might think that paying $2.00 to $4.00 per pound for dog food is a little extreme. If you think that paying $2.00 to $4.00 per pound is outrageous, then weight it against the vet bill of $3,200 that we are paying for Jerry Lewis. Do the math. I will opt for the $2.00 to $4.00 per pound any day!
